LOL Of course Beachbody is going to say “Variety is what brings results” and all this “muscle confusion” nonsense. They say it because they want YOU to buy MORE of their programs so you don’t “plateau”. If they didn’t say that,…they’d be out of business. Why not spend that money on a decent home gym???

  2. p90x4lifewaswrong says:

@Hyourinmaru8 You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. You don’t plateau because you’ve gotten used to an exercise silly,..you plateau because you get used to the intensity. God…it sounds like you’re getting your information from Beachbody and their infomercial. And SIGNIFICANT weight loss is NOT possible in 90 days without a certain amount of lean muscle loss.

  3. TheAtomicDon says:

It’s the intensity of the workout that is best. With Intense Weightlifting you’ll get results and I’m not talking about using a lot of weight either. Just intensity mixed with a couple of extra reps once in a while. You’ve got to push yourself! Not all of the time, just a little. Same applies to cardio. This is how you get ripped. You don’t need to do 20 different things in 5 phases!

  4. Hyourinmaru8 says:

1.) Muscle confusion, changing it up so you don’t plateau, if you get used to the work out it’s not going to give results anymore, I don’t think you understand this. This “stress” you’re talking about is the same damn thing. 2.) Yes, Tony does use heavier people in his infomercials, and to say you can’t achieve major weight loss in 90 days is just silly, you can! In fact, a heavier person changes more than a lighter person would! How do you not get that? P90x is the real deal, you’re a joke.

    “They’re trying to make millions.

You go to my website I give you the stuff for free.”

    LOL……im sold

Keep up the good work Mr Tarano getting everyone fit, but there are lots of people who’ve benefited from P90X which never claims to be a lifetime program, but merely something to get people on the path. I like the fact that a nutrition plan and workout is laid out for me because I’m lazy and not everyone is motivated enough to draw up their own plan, but maybe I’ll get there now that I’m hooked on working out.

  7. trevormac77 says:

I agree that the Kenpo Cardio is a pretty weak workout which is why I’ve starting working in the Insanity Ply and cardio workouts which get my heart rate up much higher than Kenpo ever did (I could barely get into the zone doing Kenpo). When it comes to working out and getting fit I believe that there’s more than one way to skin a cat and I’m pretty happy with the P90X results (down 30LBS in 6 months and a lot more muscle and strength). About 20 more to go to get ripped :)

@polishmysac Steve just came out with a GREAT video about this whole lowering body fat/muscle loss scenario.

  9. BodyPerformanceTV says:

I don’t need to. I’m very familiar with exercise and the human body. Never been hit by a car either but I know it wouldn’t be good.

  10. brushfour says:

That’s the beauty of WALKING Polish. I don’t know why more people don’t see that. It WILL speed up recovery times. It WILL burn calories and bodyfat WITHOUT tiring you further. Lifting is for building muscles. The act of lifting is HARD, but it doesn’t burn as many calories as you think. Walking for an hour will burn more. Why induce more hard stress on your muscles with lifting….to burn calories?? Reduce the lifting….and just walk. LOL…Okay I’m getting too long winded. Over and out.

  11. brushfour says:

It’s easy to come close to over-training, tip on the edge for awhile…and then fall in. The things you listed ARE THEE typical signs of over-training. I’m glad to hear your’re going to ease up. It’s funny, but you’ll actually get stronger and put on more lean muscle mass if you do. Your muscles have a built in system (Rules), that they want to play by. If you try to force against your bodies system, it will fight you back. It’s sending you a message now….it’s wants more rest.

  12. cjadams33 says:

I have to agree with obugirl04, I am doing the p90x program right now. Yeah it might not be the most super exact program that you can POSSIBLY do for you body…., but I mean, who’s to say what is? I mean the combinations between (workout routines, diet programs, & vitamins and supliments) is endless? Alot of different things work for alot of different people. I think the goal is to find something that you feel good doing and helps you feel good about yourself. Right? Enough said :)

  13. brushfour says:

But real training, as opposed to what some think, is NOT a Rocky movie. Real life is different and your muscles are not asking for an endless barrage of stress. The idea of ” more is better “, simply is not true. Hard intense muscular contractions–YES on each muscle group with the hopes of doing it progressively (increasing the weight-load or intensity per set), but that doesn’t mean adding endless stress without proper rest. Your muscle will not respond well over time to THAT kind of regime.

  14. polishmysac says:

Thanks bro that is what I really was hoping you would say. For the past few weeks I have been giving it everything I had and let me tell you. I am drained. I mean I am only 27 and in pretty good shape but when I am not at work or working out all I want to do is sleep lol. Even on my days off lately I have a hard time getting out of bed or when I wake up I have a hard time keeping my eyes open. I was discussing with my brother yesterday I may need to bring everything down a bit.

  15. brushfour says:

I believe VERY much in the Heavy Day/Light Day principle. (This is me now), but I feel training a muscle group HARD twice per week is too much. I train each muscle group ONCE hard per week,..with a lighter day. Sometimes I don’t do the lighter day…which puts me at ONCE per week. When I reduced my program I gained. Most experience lifters will tell you that. It’s weird, but it takes a kind of thoughtful discipline to not overtrain. It’s sort of natural to want “give it everything”…everytime.

  16. brushfour says:

I would agree that you’re a good gainer for muscle. I’m not sure I believe in as much as I once did in the “hardgainer.” Maybe. But more often then not you can look at a Hardgainers program and find a myriad of mistakes; usually overtraining..over doing cardio, or never planning or attempting often enough new weights, reps, or sets. They get stuck in what’s comfortable or reasonably hard…and stay there. It takes some guts to continually shoot for heavier weight,..more reps, push the envelope.

  17. polishmysac says:

I am redoing the diet again to try and cut out some more of the sodium. I think I pretty much got it down now. lol fifth time is the charm. But my question is…… how many times a week do you work out each muscle group. I have been doing twice a week for most of my muscles but I think I may be overdoing it. Please let me know if I am cause I don’t want to be doing this much work and not gaining from it.

  18. polishmysac says:

I know the object is to get leaner and that is why I have cut my calories as much as I have. I heard that on average a person can gain 5 pounds of muscle a year from intense working out and if they are an easier gainer they may get 10. I am pretty sure I am an easy gainer so I lucked out on that. I know it’s not the diet now that will add the lean muscles, it’s the working out with proper nutrition. I have another question.

  19. brushfour says:

Polish, you said you shop at Wal-Mart. I know most Wal-Marts carry Naturally More peanut butter. It’s got flax seed and is rich in Omega-3 fats. Sprouted grain bread like Ezekial is better then Wheat bread. It’s more filling and satisfying for the calories. There’s no flour involved. It’s a calories IN-calories OUT equation, and foods like sprouted grain bread and Naturally More peanut butter,- (reasonable servings) will fill you up for relatively few calories. Less cals..and off comes the FAT.

  20. brushfour says:

Polish, a small meal or snack before bed is a great idea. The idea of NOT eating 3 hours or more before bedtime is very bad advice. I have 1-2 slices of sprouted grain bread with fruit spread or jam and a glass of skim milk almost EVERY night before bed. I got that idea from one of THEE absolute leannest natural bodybuilders I’ve ever seen. It’s satisfying and allows you to sleep better. Almond, cashew, Naturally More peanut butter are GOOD for you and help you to get lean and stay there.

this is coming from a man that only saw the commercial for p90x and he didnt even try the program

  22. rcalliou says:

So if you say that all the “results” are skewed from the seller… which makes sense and is most likely true.. how do you explain everyone elses results here on youtube? if you just search p90x results… you get a massive amount of people who were successful. I say that it does work and that it works really well.

  23. obugirl04 says:

P90x works. It’s that simple. You can gripe about Tony Horton all day, but I am doing it and it’s real. I am also not getting paid and do not have my photographs professionally taken…

  24. brushfour says:

One other thing Polish, you mentioned in your video that you were proceeding with a program to get bigger. Well, yes..in a sense bigger muscles. But muscle is small and dense. It’s HARD to add and keep adding pounds of muscle. Generally when guys get bigger, it’s added fat ON TOP of muscle. The object here is to get LEANER as you hopefully put on a little muscle or maintain. Sometimes guys look like they have bigger muscles when only it’s the same muscle volume seen against a smaller waist.

  25. brushfour says:

It’s funny your bring up cottage cheese. I know a bodybuilder who is known for his extreme leannness. He’s built well enough, but his strong point is his ability to get very lean. At pre-judging of his second bodybuilding contest, people commented on how his cuts looked slightly blurred. He was retaining water and couldn’t figure out why. He later realized that the night before the contest he mistakenly ate cottage cheese at the hotel salad bar. He feels that is what blurred his cuts slightly.
